The official name of the anime related event which will be held this autumn as a part of “JAPAN International Contents Festival (CoFesta)” is announced to be “Japan Animation Contents Meeting 2007 (JAM)”. “CoFesta” is an all-round event of entertainment contents such as game, anime, comics, music, broadcast, movie, etc. held by the government and the people.

It will be held from October 4 to October 7, which is in the middle of Tokyo Game Show and Tokyo International Film Festival. The venue will be at Akihabara UDX and the whole area of denkigai.
According to the official website of CoFesta, JAM2007 aims to develop affiliated business such as making movies and dramas out of anime contents and character merchandising. Operation of anime business showcase using business model of the future and seminars on anime business will be held. It will be more specialized on the business side compared with the all-round anime event Tokyo International Anime Fair held every spring.
Also, other anime contents related projects “Akihabara Entamatsuri” and “ASIAGRAPH2007” will be official events at CoFesta. Akihabara Entamatsuri is an event for fans which has been held at the Tokyo International Film Festival as a coupling project on anime and manga. It will be held from October 20 to October 28, the same period as Tokyo International Film Festival. ASIAGRAPH2007 is an event for creators, technicians and researchers to show their fruits on CG animation techonology. It will be held at Akihabara UDX from October 12 to October 14.

Other 12 main events of CoFesta include Tokyo Game Show 2007, DiGRA2007 (Digital Game Research Association”, CEDEC2007 (CESA Developers Conference), Tokyo Asia Music Market (TAM), Tokyo International Film Festival (TIFF), TIFFCOM2007, ATP Award, NHK Japan award, and Tokyo Contents Market.
