¡ÈPancake¡É (630 yen) of ¡ÈManso Fruits Parlor¡É is what Shoutaro Ikenami, a representative historical novel writer of postwar, extolled in his work. Manso is a long established store of high-class fruits established in 1846, during the late Edo period. Its first floor is high-class fruits shop, and in the fruits parlor on mezzanine and second floor, customers can enjoy its popular ¡Èpancake¡É. With a catchy copy of ¡Èbaking for 70 years¡É, one may find a billboard of ¡Èpancake¡É in the yard of Tokyo subway station. Pancakes made from a recipe from old days are thick and heavy. Even with plentiful of butter and syrup, it is not too sweet as imagined, but simple and nostalgic. Aside from the normal pancake, customers can also enjoy a pancake with season¡Çs fruits and whipped cream (813 yen) and season¡Çs fruits parfait (1050 yen). In a calm atmosphere one can enjoy the retrospective taste.
